12–17 listopada 2019 r. w Operze Nova w Bydgoszczy odbył się I Ogólnopolski Konkurs Wokalny im. Bogdana Paprockiego. Organizatorami Konkursu są: Akademia Muzyczna im. Feliksa Nowowiejskiego w Bydgoszczy Stowarzyszenie im. Bogdana Paprockiego oraz Opera Nova.
Otwarte dla Publiczności etapy przesłuchań w Operze Nova odbyły się w sobotę,16 listopada w godzinach: 10-14 i 18-22. Koncert laureatów miał miejsce w niedzielę, 17 listopada o godz. 18.
To pierwszy konkurs wokalny w północnej Polsce o tak wysokiej randze. Do Jury zaproszeni zostali najwybitniejsi polscy śpiewacy, artyści cenieni na arenie międzynarodowej: Ewa Podleś, Stefania Toczyska, Andrzej Dobber, Mariusz Kwiecień, Rafał Siwek. W III etapie Konkursu pojawili się w nim również dyrektorzy artystyczni wszystkich teatrów operowych i muzycznych w Polsce.
