about

The audience of XXX BFO will be one of the first in the country to see "The Excursions of Mr. Brouček" directed by David Pountney, who (with great imagination and courage) brought Janáček's rarely performed work to the stage. The show will be presented on May 1, 2024 by our guests from the Stanisław Moniuszko Grand Theater in Poznań - just a month after the Polish premiere!

Prapremierowe "Wyprawy"
z Poznania do Bydgoszczy

grand excursion from poznań to bydgoszcz

Here's Mr. Brouček, a frequenter of a beer hall in Prague, who, over a mug of a hoppy drink, knows the remedy for all the ills that plague the world (we know such people!), and who is mortally tired of his barren existence (we also know such people!).

And since nothing relieves sloth and boredom like sticking your nose outside the four walls, Mr. Brouček eagerly leaves the inn and sets off on a journey. First he visits... the Moon, then... he lands in a Hussite camp - yes, in the 15th century.

A visit to the Lunarians living on the Moon is extremely difficult for our traveler, because Lunarians do not eat or drink, and, as we already know, Mr. Brouček cannot imagine life without it. The Hussites are no better. God's warriors quickly notice the true love of a guest from 19th century Prague - food and drink. So, maybe traveling doesn't educate at all, and the best place is an inn, or rather an empty beer barrel, a perfect place for a dream journey.

Why do I go to the opera?

"Because for me it is always a celebration, during which you can meet the spirit of the operatic past, its present and you get a chance to run into its future" - writes Ilona Słojewska in the pages of Dziennik Teatralny Kujawy on the occasion of World Opera Day 2024. Because every opera performance is a uniquely constructed work, in which the voice and music give so many emotions that whenever you pass by its building, you feel the vibrations, for which you could visit it every day. And if,...

„Orfeusz i Eurydyka” według Roberta Bondary.
